Publishing

Three pathways. Clear terms for each.

The Margins House publishes in two ways and offers services in a third. Each one differs in who funds the work, whose name is on the book, and who holds the rights.

Publisher-led

Margins House Originals

Originals is our home for original books, audio fiction, serialized storytelling, and other creative work that the house develops and backs itself.

Our long-term goal is to acquire and finance selected projects under publisher-funded agreements. We’re building this program deliberately and will choose projects one at a time.

Print is one format among several. An audio drama or a serialized story can be an Original without a printed edition.

Author-funded hybrid

Collaborative Publishing

A hybrid pathway for authors who want the standards of a publishing house and an active role in their book. You fund an agreed scope of work. We provide editorial guidance, production, publishing coordination, distribution, and the marketing support we agree on, and the book is published under The Margins House.

We review every project before accepting it. Hybrid publishing only works when the publisher is selective, so not every inquiry becomes an agreement.

What your agreement spells out

  • The full scope of work and every fee
  • Which rights you keep and which you license
  • How royalties are calculated and paid
  • Formats, distribution, and the marketing we commit to
  • The production schedule and your approvals at each stage
